TSRTC VAJRA Mini Buses AC & Non-AC: launching “Vajra” mini-buses of TSRTC for the public from Pragathi Bhavan here on Thursday, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao vowed to resolve the Corporation’s problems and check losses being incurred. Fare charge Rs 300 for Warangal and Rs 350 for Nizamabad.
Later KCR launched an RTC Mobile application and said the new buses will cater to the needs of people as they will be almost at the doorsteps of the people. Exuding confidence that the Vajra buses become ideal to other States, KCR said the buses will be plied from various colonies in the twin cities and will be extended to other districts. KCR stated that he was making sincere efforts for safeguarding the TSRTC.
“Right now, we are pressing in 30 Vajra mini-bus services each to Warangal and Nizamabad from Hyderabad. The same buses will be extended to other cities and district headquarters in a phased manner. We have the responsibility to protect the TSRTC from recurring losses and ensure that the employees are content for which we have increased salaries by 44 per cent fitment besides regularising 4,000 employees”, he remarked.
To safeguard the TSRTC, the State government earmarked Rs 1000 crore in the State budget and taking all measures to ensure that Corporation make profits in future and become ideal to other States in the country, the Chief Minister hoped. “Gone are the days when the RTC was in the doldrums due to inefficiency of the previous governments and the employees were reeling under fear of privatization, he said. Efforts will be made to see that the GHMC gives funds to the RTC on a monthly basis and overcome debt problem in future.

The Vajra buses as part of its effort to make air-condition travel affordable. The 21-seater T-32 BS-IV mini-buses, whose bodies were built by the Mumbai-based MG Group, are a combination of various state-of-the-art facilities, including GPS, Closed Circuit Television Cameras (CCTV), LCD television, high speed Wi-Fi and mobile charging points for every seat. The buses being equipped with GPS, commuters can live track their location using a mobile app, according to GV Ramana Rao, Managing Director, TSRTC.

All the other buses will be equipped with ticket vending machines and drivers have to issue the ticket. Initially, the corporation will run 30 AC-mini buses to Warangal and 18 buses to Nizamabad from Hyderabad. “We have decided to fare charge Rs 300 for Warangal and Rs 350 for Nizamabad,” an official said.
