Transport Minister P Mahendar Reddy on Sunday launched a Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) bus service between Tandur town of Vikarabad district to Dantewada in Chhattisgarh State on Sunday morning.

Speaking on the occasion, he said the corporation was running services on six Inter-State routes. He said services would also be launched to Raipur, Sironcha (in Maharashtra) and Goa also. He recalled that the Government had extended a financial assistance of Rs 3000 crore to the corporation to strengthen it.

Later, the Minister unveiled the statue of Chakali Ilemma, a legendary person who fought the Nizam’s army for liberation of Telangana on the occasion of her 32 death anniversary, at Vijay Vidyalaya circle in Tandur town.

He called upon people to realise the dreams of Telangana freedom fighters and turn the State into a golden Telangana. He recalled various measures introduced by the Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao for the welfare of the washerman community.
