Telangana Transport Minister M Mahender Reddy today said that the state government under the leadership of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao taking all steps to run Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) in profit from the next year.
Minister says No TSRTC Losses from 2016
Speaking at the TSRTC employees felicitation function held at Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station (MGBS) here, Mr Reddy said that the RTC earnings would be Rs 9 crore and the expenditure will be Rs 10 crore per day, Rs one crore getting lose per day.
TSTRC DEPORTS IN ENTIRE TELANGANA
The total RTC bus deports in the State were 55. Of them 22 deports were running with profits, the Minister said and expressed confidence that the remaining deports also will come out from losses from the next year.
He said still there was no bus facility for 1200 villages in the state. To meet this problem, the State government has taken up the development of rural roads with an outlay of Rs 15,000 crore. Once the roads work will be completed the RTC will run buses service to all the villages in the state, he added.
500 News Buses for TSRTC
The minister said the state government was sanctioned Rs 150 crore to purchase 500 new buses including 400 Palle Velugu and 100 Air-Conditioned buses. Earlier, the Minister laid the foundation stone for the developmental works of the MGBS with an investment of Rs 1.3 crore. Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy, Commercial Tax Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Excise minister Padma Rao Godu, TSRTC Joint Managing Director G V Ramana Rao took part in the programme. Later, the Ministers also presented meritorious certificates to the RTC employees in Ranga Reddy district.
